The era of large use of carbon dioxide as building block for chemicals and source of carbon for fuels has come.[1] The need to shift from the Linear to the Cyclic Econo my is pushing the deployment of the Circular Carbon Economy-CCE [2,3] which has at its heart the valorization of spent carbon such as CO2 and waste biomass. In this lecture the benefits of using CO2 as source of carbon for fuels will be discussed, taking into consideration the various options open to the technology innovations such as: E-fuels, Solar-fuels, Biofuels and Renewable Fuels of NonBio-Origin. An assessment of options will be made, outlining the bottlenecks to their full exploitation.
